Theatrical Turntable Construction

Over the course of one of my semesters at the University at Buffalo, I worked in a small team to fabricate and assemble a 20’ diameter turntable for the university’s Drama Theatre. Using design drawings provided by our faculty mentor, we created the wooden parts necessary for construction and assembled the turntable in the UB scene shop for testing. The turntable used a roller chain connected to a rewired motor and we programmed it using a Creative Connors Stagehand Mini and Spikemark.
